Eager to learn about the finer points of photography, members were given information in a first-class learning session.
The use of filters in various forms was explained by Paul Young in an illustrated programme. Likewise, a professional presentation was expertly narrated by Gerry Curtis who explained in detail the use of various shutter speeds and the differing effects obtained with a range of exposures and included information on shutter speeds and the use of flash.
The learning curve was put into practice with a well-patronised table-top photo shoot in the closing stages of a fascinating evening. The next meeting will determine the winner of the Ted Pimlott Trophy when a series of creative entries will be screened.
All meetings are held at the Athenaeum Club on Thursdays at 7.30 pm and there is also an informative website.
