At the afternoon meeting on Friday in the Methodist Church, Fore Street, Phyllis Whiting introduced Pauline Reed from Helston who would be demonstrating her skills in the art of flower arranging.
She held her audience enthralled as she produced three very different arrangements: the first using a wicker basket as the base, the second an arrangement set on top of a glass vase which contained some pot pourri and the third an arrangement for use at Easter in a church. She also gave her audience some very useful tips about preserving the life of cut flowers as she worked on her arrangements.
Pauline was thanked by Judi Mitchell. Light refreshments were served by Jean Rashleigh and Ruth Pascoe.
The next meeting at 7.30pm on Friday, March 7 will be an open one when Rachel Miles of Truro will give an illustrated talk entitled "The History of Fashion".
