Anyone who cast their eyes skyward between 11.45am and just after noon in Cornwall yesterday were treated to the spectacular sight of five fighter jets refueling in mid-air
It is unclear whether the planes taking it in turns to refuel were five F-15's or F16's from the Royal Danish Air Force, however the large plane is a US Air Force KC-10 aircraft.
The sight sparked debate online as people wondered what the aircraft were doing.
Among the suggestions online were David Cameron on his way back to Westminster after "seeing how many English voters we had room to build houses for".
The planes flew on over Cornwall, being spotted over Cury and Penzance, before heading out to sea.
