Helston town warden Craig Bowcutt and town councillor Ronnie Williams have been thanked for the “enormous amount of effort” they gave during the recent storms.
Mayor Jonathan Radford-Gaby paid tribute to the pair at the last meeting of the town council, together with members of the public who also helped but wouldn’t want to be named publicly, he said.
“It’s people like that that are the backbone of this town and keep us moving,” he added.
Workers from Helston’s Cormac depot have also been congratulated for their “exemplary work” over the last few weeks.
Cornwall Councillor Andy Wallis said the team on the Water-ma-Trout industrial estate had been “extremely busy”, in all weathers and conditions, and were “instrumental” in helping deliver 800 sandbags to hand out at the Coronation Lake car park last week.
