The road above Gear Bridge, between Mawgan and St Martin, is reported to have begun “sliding into the creek below.”
An article in the latest Meneage Messenger states that a recent tree fall seemed to have opened up the crack further. It is likely that the road will have to be closed while repairs are carried out.
The highways department of Cornwall Council is currently designing a scheme on the section that has collapsed but does not expect to start work until the end of the summer.
