Volunteers are needed for the Nare Point Station of the National Coastwatch Institution.
The station, at Gillan near Manaccan, is looking for people to be trained as watchkeepers, to maintain four-hour watches of the coastline with another colleague.
Shifts are between 8am and noon and then noon to 4pm during the winter, while in the summer they run from 8am until noon, noon until 4pm and 4pm until 8pm. The station is open seven days of the week, every day of the year.
Training will cover watchkeeping, VHF radio, radar, chart work, ship recognition and record keeping.
Volunteers are asked to cover at least two watches each, although many do more.
Anyone interested in joining can call Len Jepp on 01326 281031.
