Firefighters were kept bust today after the strong winds brought down power cables and left a sign dangling in a precarious position.
A crew from Camborne were called to West Cornwall Retail Park, Marsh Lane, Hayle at 8.04am after a report of a sign in a precarious position and in danger of blowing down.
The area was cordoned off to keep members of the public safe and the incident was left for maintenance staff to make safe.
A crew from Camborne was called out again just minutes later to Lighthouse Hill, Portreathafter a report of a broken live power cable dangling in the road.
Firefighters kept members of the public away until engineers from Western Power Distribution attended to make the scene safe.
A live power cable fallen onto a road at Westward Road, St Ives at 7.24am saw one fire appliance from St Ives called out.
Firefighters ensured that the public were kept away and stoodby until engineers from Western Power Distribution were able to isolate the electricity supply to make the scene safe.
