February's first meeting fell victim to the dire weather and the annual tournament for the Table Tennis Trophy had to be postponed.
However, a rare sunny Saturday morning blessed the year's first Farmers' Market, and our fundraiser for the Truro Samaritans organisation raised over £60. Members enjoyed a sociable morning serving (and consuming) hot beverages, toasted teacakes and bacon baps. Books and daffodils were also on sale.
Following the half term break, Jasmine Harvey was welcomed to speak enthusiastically of her lifelong interest in dance and her joy in teaching it to children of all ages and abilities all over the country. Now back and settled in her native Mullion, Jasmine covers a wide range of pupils. Members were guided through basic steps and movements to improve posture and well-being, and after an intensive half hour everyone was ready for refreshments! Leader Rosemary Bray thanked Jasmine for a stimulating hour, presenting her with a sheaf of spring flowers, to warm applause from participants and spectators. Several members enquired about joining Jasmine's clientele.
Monday Club meets at the Methodist Church at 7.30pm for a variety of events throughout the year – all are welcome.
