METHODIST CHURCH: All-age worship on Sunday was arranged by Tania and the Junior Church, with Kathryn and Kayleigh singing solos and Morwenna reading about Moses. Mission work in Australia and Jamaica were remembered. Tristan was pleased to present Charles and Maureen James with a card to celebrate their Golden Wedding later in the week; Maureen is a Junior Church helper. Tania played the piano and Janet was on steward duty. The next all-age worship is on Mothering Sunday, March 30. For the rest of the year, toys and an activity table will be available for any younger children who attend.
On Sunday Deacon Geoff Tamblin will lead a renew and review service at 11am. Junior Church is also at 11am in the Sunday schoolroom. At 4pm there is a Circuit United service at Helston Methodist Church.
On Wednesday, March 12 at 7.30pm, there will be a follow-up meeting for review and renew. This is to look at where Leedstown Methodist Church is as a church and circuit. Everyone involved with the life of the church is most welcome to attend.
The new lunchtime prayer group is now to be known as the Hands Together Prayer Hour and will be held on Fridays from 1pm until 2pm instead of Tuesdays, commencing soon. Anyone in Leedstown is welcome to come along, especially if they have any personal or family issues that they would like the group to pray about. On Friday, March 7 at 2.30pm, the Women’s World Day of Prayer service will be at Germoe Parish Church. The service will be led by the Rev Beverly Turner. There will be afternoon tea to follow the service.
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: On Tuesday, March 11 at 2.15 pm in Leedstown Sunday school, Paul Phillips of Helston will be giving a talk on “The Seige of Skewes - 1734”. Paul, formerly from Leedstown, gives a fascinating account of this dramatic event that happened within a stone’s throw of Leedstown village. Everyone is welcome, and admission is £3.50 to include refreshments.
HAPPY FEET PRE-SCHOOL: The Happy Feet Pre-school at Leedstown C P School are holding a race night on Friday, March 14 at 7.30pm at The Duke of Leeds Pub, Leedstown to raise funds - everyone welcome.
VILLAGE HALL: There are still some places available for the classes. Computers are provided to use if needed and advice and help given. The classes are friendly, free and informative, so please contact Gavin Bolton on 07794 582944 for information and to sign up.
