The children of Mawnan Smith had a flipping good time on Shrove Tuesday at the village’s annual pancake race.
There were smiles on the faces of Mawnan Smith Pre-School pupils and their younger siblings at the event, organised in the Memorial Hall by Mawnan Women’s Institute.
Jenny Ragg, one of the organisers, said: “It’s been a village tradition for quite a long time, it’s an event for the community and very well supported by the community.”
She also thanked fellow Women’s Institute member Margaret Lugg for making “especially tough” pancakes for the children to race with.
Tea and biscuits were provided to refresh competitors and spectators alike, and there was also a raffle.
Jenny added: “Everyone always enjoys it. It’s always been a local event that’s nice for everyone.”
