A popular arts event organisation from Mylor has announced it is calling time on operations after running “out of steam”.
Mylor Sessions, which attracted musicians, comedians and other performers including Fairport Convention, Jack Dee, Tom Etheridge, and Toyah, was run by volunteers, with profits going to charity.
The organisers sent supporters an email announcing the end of the regular session, but offering the chance to re-subscribe to the mailing list for possible one-off events.
A spokesperson said: “After a very successful couple of years of exceptional entertainment and fundraising, everyone has simply run out of steam and we decided to call it a day. “We’ve raised over £11,000 over the past couple of years for local projects and charities. Our final donations will be to help the scouts with their hut, which suffered during the last floods and any funds remaining will be donated to the Village Hall.
“It’s been enormous fun and a large number of people put considerable effort into a very worthwhile project, so many thanks to you all – we couldn’t have done it without you.”
