Four students from Helston Community College have been accepted into the country’s top two universities.
Lisa Gong, David Hosking, Shamus Birch and Annie Taylor have all received offers from Oxbridge this year.
They are among a record number from the college who applied to university and received conditional offers from their first choices.
Lisa is off to Cambridge to read chemical engineering, while the other three students have accepted places at Oxford. Shamus Birch has secured a place to read biology, with David heading to Merton College to read physics and Annie accepting a place at Hertford College to read law.
This year 120 students |from Helston applied to university, with more than 50 per cent applying to universities in the Russell Group (24 British public research universities).
The college has congratulated all the successful students on their “aspirational achievement.”
