Human remains of a man aged in his 40s have been found near Truro.
A pathologist confirmed this morning that bones that were found near the A390 at Woodcock Corner are that of a man aged 40 years or over. The remains are thought to have been there for at least six months.
Police officers were contacted by a member of the public at 4.15pm yesterday, who found the bones in a field.
Officers cordoned off the area, but due to darkness falling only a preliminary search of the area was made. Officers remained at the scene overnight and investigations began in full this morning.
Sand and gravel has been delivered during the night to make access to the area easier, following the recent bad weather.
Enquiries have begun to identify the remains.
