A Falmouth soldier who allegedly filmed colleagues kicking and punching Iraqi civilians will not face a court martial.
Corporal Martin Webster, whose parents still live at the family home in Tregullow Road, was said to have been behind the camera when soldiers were shown beating up civilians dragged off the street.
The footage was taken in April 2004 and broadcast in February last year.
Following an inquiry by the Army's Special Investigation Branch, nine men from the 1st Battalion Light Infantry were referred to the Army Prosecuting Authority. It is understood that the APA has now decided that the men need not face a court martial over the matter - although two soldiers could still face disciplinary action.
