METHODIST CHURCH: At the start of the service on Sunday and for the first week of Lent, Jacqui Milner did the appropriate reading and laid the bread and wine at the Lenton Cross. Ruby Brown from Leedstown was welcomed to conduct the service and she talked about Adam and Eve and remarked how the very first employment was Adam as a gardener. It was also enjoyable to learn a new tune for a hymn that was unfamiliar.

PRIMARY SCHOOL: Last month pupils from the Helston area were invited to send teams of six to a year three and four badminton skills festival at Helston Community College. A total of six team entered representing four different schools – Nansloe, Godolphin, Halwin and Germoe. Focussing on badminton skill development, the teams battled through a series of eight timed activities expertly led by Helston Community College year 13 sports leaders. A short presentation followed the event with Nansloe B team emerging as the overall winners narrowly beating their A team into the runners-up spot. Well done to those in the Godolphin team. Thanks are extended to all the Emerald class parents who entered the secret painting auction. Seventy three pounds and thirty pence was raised and will go toward resources for the classroom.

There is a beautiful Mother’s Day hamper to be won by guessing how many sweets are in a tub – 50p a go! The child who guesses correctly or is the nearest wins the sweets and the mum wins the hamper. Thanks are extended to all who donated items for the hamper.
