Sunday morning worship was conducted by the Rev Daniel Reed, who welcomed family and friends to the christening of Olivia Louise Eva.
Mr Reed said that something within us wants to thank God for the gift of children and we are charged with nurturing them. Olivia’s baptism was not dependent upon the promises of her parents and godparents because God knows her and loves her without any commitment from others. God’s perfect love for all of us gives us the strength to support the family as they nurture Olivia.
Mr Reed showed some souvenirs from his holidays including a piece of petrified wood that was 1800 years old, an oil lamp that was 1900 years old and an ammonite fossil that was old beyond knowledge. God’s love has endured forever and will continue to surround us.
The Bible reading was from Psalm 136. Nicola Hale was the pianist and Paul Triggs operated the computer.
