CP SCHOOL: On March 6, seven children went to Mounts Bay School to take part in a football festival. Their first three matches were goalless draws but in the final match, striker Kyle scored the winning goal. Goalkeeper Ashley, defenders Jacob and Jack and midfield players Richie, Rowan and Katie played very well and the children enjoyed their day. Also a group of children went to Mounts Bay Academy to play a basketball tournament. All of them tried really hard with Caleb coming close to scoring. Oliver played well despite being the youngest. Tinika, Catherine, Lucy, Emilija, Migle, Leon, Kayleigh, Caleb, Oliver have never been before so they made a great effort to try their best and have fun. Behaviour was impeccable and the children represented their school very well..
HAPPY FEET PRE-SCHOOL: The pre-school group at Leedstown Primary School are having a race night at The Duke of Leeds Pub, Leedstown to raise funds towards a potential new building for Happy Feet Pre-school. This will be held on Friday and starts at 7.30pm with the first race off at 8pm. There are lots of ways to win prizes and everyone is very welcome for what promises to be a fun night out.
METHODIST CHURCH: On Sunday the 11am service will be a reader service led by Mr N Bishop. Also at 11am, Junior Church meets in the Sunday schoolroom. On Saturday, March 22 there will be a soup and dessert lunch, held in the Sunday schoolroom at 12.15pm. Hands Together Prayer Hour will now be held on Fridays from 1-2pm instead of Tuesdays. Anyone in Leedstown is welcome to come along, especially if they have any personal or family issues that they would like the group to pray about. Congratulations are sent to Sunday school member, Lewis Verran, who has won the prize for being the best chairman in the countywide Rotary Club Schools event "Youth Speaks". Lewis’s school, Crowan, came third overall.
Within the next few weeks Michaela James and her family will be leaving to go and live in South Africa. The members of the congregation wish Michaela and her family all good wishes for their new life and send sincere thanks for all her hard work.
JAMM: The friendly group for mums and their young children next meet in Leedstown village hall on Monday, March 17, from 1-3pm. New members welcome.
