Councillors in Penryn have chosen Councillor Mark Snowdon to be deputy mayor for the civic year which starts in May 2014.
Councillor Snowdon’s nomination was the only one to be received by the council, proposed by Councillor Mary May and seconded by Councillor Gill Grant, Penryn’s mayor-elect.
He thanked councillors for their support, and said: “After 15 years I am stepping up to the plate and taking a position of great importance, and will do it to the best of my ability.”
