A letter is to be written to police chiefs from St Keverne Parish Council saying what a “great shame” any reduction in police community support officers would be.
Members will copy police and crime commissioner Tony Hogg into the letter, written in response to the news that two of Helston Police Station's PCSOs have been promoted.
It has yet to be decided whether they will be replaced, prompting councillor Bill Frisken to say it would be a great shame if they were not and there was a knock on effect of the Lizard Peninula's PCSO Julia Berry having to share her time out.
He said: “PCSO Berry has been a big help. I shall be very sorry if we lose our presence here on a parish council evening.
“I believe it's almost worth writing to the police force to say we're very sorry if we're going to dip out because of any cuts in the PCSOs here in the parish.”
