School children and university students hand delivered over 12,000 daffodils to shoppers and traders in Falmouth today as the town celebrated the launch of its Spring Festival.
Pupils from King Charles and St Francis primary schools were joined by students from Falmouth School and Falmouth University to dish out the blooms as part of the annual Paint The Town Yellow Day.
Throughout the town, 25 shops had their windows decorated by the volunteer teams while a further 100 were presented with bunches of flowers. After they completed their work in the town centre, the groups moved out to the seafront where daffodils were delivered to several hotels.
The Falmouth Spring Festival now continues until the end of the month with a host of activities planned over the next fortnight. Volunteer groups will be descending on various areas of the town over the next two days to carry out “spring cleans.”
