Staff at The Royal Duchy Hotel in Falmouth have been praised for the way they handled an outbreak of what was understood to be the Norwalk virus over the Christmas period.
Thirty-three people staying at the hotel showed symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea and were transferred to another of the company's hotels.
The hotel is now back in business and open to new guests again.
Carrick District Council's principal environmental health officer Carol Thoroughgood, praised staff of the hotel for the way the incident was handled.
"They already had good procedures in place so it was just a matter of putting those into action," she said.
