Members were disappointed that the Mayor of Falmouth, Geoffrey Evans, was unable to join them at their meeting due to ill health – they wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him again soon.
Everybody did enjoy their evening though by playing two games of bingo and two quizzes. Eileen and Sue ran a very successful cake stall with members baking and buying and £92 was raised for CHSW. Sue would like to run another one at the July meeting, again for CHSW.
Recently members enjoyed an evening meal at Falmouth Golf Club, which was enjoyed by all with good food and company.
A letter from Cornwall Blind Association thanked the club for the very generous donation of £60 given to them when Verity Barker and Penny Lloyd came to give them a talk on all the services and equipment they provide for 4000 people in the county, with the help of 270 volunteers – what a wonderful job they all do.
