PRIMARY SCHOOL: Well done to everyone on World Book Day. The school was full of interesting and intriguing characters and all the children made a great effort and brought their favourite characters from treasured books and stories to life during the day. Pupils in Year 2 and Year 5 had a good time at the Educational Farm and Country Day at the Royal Cornwall Showground. They had an interactive experience explaining how Cornish produce gets from the field to the dinner table. They learnt about a range of farming activities, including planting and harvesting native crops, came face-to-face with farm animals, tried their hands at pasty crimping and sausage making and sampled local food and drink.
Every class will be taking part in the sports event on Sports Relief Day on Friday which will be a great way for the whole school to have fun, get active and make a difference.
LITTLE DOLPHINS PRE-SCHOOL: Corin, Olivia, Georgiana, Saskia and Jemima have been welcomed to pre-school. The children are currently busy with sounds, which include musical, environmental and machines. They are going to take part in a listening walk around the village and will also have a visit to Paradise Park.
The popular Dinky Dolphins Mother and Toddler group continues on Wednesdays from 1.30-3pm and is £2 per visit.
METHODIST CHURCH: At the start of the service on Sunday, Nicky Lawrence laid the bowl and towel at the Lenten Cross for the second Sunday of Lent. The service was conducted by Jenny Bales from St Ives. Her theme for the service was Jesus following in His Father’s footsteps and how it affects us. Organist was Mavis Harper.
The mobile library is due on Friday parking outside the church from 9.40-9.55am and thereafter fortnightly.
