The photography workshop organised by the society proved to be a very interesting and informative evening.
Local photography expert Tom Symons gave many hints and tips for producing a photograph worthy of entry in to the Horticultural Show.
We were pleased also to welcome the acclaimed wildlife photographer David Thompson. David is an exceptionally talented professional photographer who has worked on such productions as Planet Earth with David Attenborough.
Tom and David are both experienced photography judges and were able to explain exactly what judges will be looking for in a winning photograph.
Further help and advice was then given in a practical session. Everyone had brought their own cameras and were encouraged to take photographs under the watchful eye of both experts.
Dr Geoff Wood, president, gave a vote of thanks to Tom and David for their help and advice and encouraged everyone to enter the show. All six photography classes are open to everyone. Schedules are available from Mullion Post Office.
The next event will be an evening concert with the fabulous Helston School Jazz Orchestra. This takes place on Friday, April 25, 7.30pm in Mullion Methodist Chapel. Tickets are £5 and are available now from any committee member or on the door. For further information please ring Pauline Rowse 01326 240101 01326 240101.
