METHODIST CHURCH: As there was no service this week members joined with Mullion for their United Service. The morning at Cury next week will be at 11am with the Rev Steve Swann. The coffee morning is on Thursday from 9–11am.
SNOOKER CLUB: The A team have become Lizard Peninsula Snooker League Division 2 champions by the closest of margins. The club have been top of division two from the start of the season, at one point having a ten point lead over the second place team. A spell of poor results in the second half of the season meant the outcome would be decided in the final match of the season, with Porthleven needing a 4-0 win against Ruan Minor to draw level with Cury A. They narrowly failed to achieve this with a 3-1 win, leaving Cury A as division two champions by one point. Cury B and C teams are still playing in division one with the C team battling away in the top half of the division, whilst the B team are fighting in the relegation zone.
VILLAGE HALL: The annual meeting took place on Thursday with Phil Greet being re-elected as chairman; vice chairman, Paul Cook; treasurer, Mike Aston was re-elected and Jeanette Dodd was elected as secretary. Other committee members are Priscilla Oates, Jenny Smith, Laurence Garner, Rob Morris and Sharman Giles.
On Saturday from 11am–3pm there will be a table top sale on behalf of the St Keverne Choir. Come along and grab yourselves a bargain, there will be refreshments and a raffle. Cash Prize Bingo returns on March 27 with eyes down at 7.30pm. Monthly Whist Drive is on Thursday at 7.30pm.
