Sunday morning worship was led by the minister, the Rev Beverly Turner, who spoke on Hope, illustrating her sermon from the first chapter of the book of Ruth.
This chapter was read in dramatised version by members of the congregation: Venessa Williams as Ruth; Wendy Mitchell as Orpah and Elsie Balme as Naomi, together with Anne Bond, Hilary Cromey, Olive Polglase and Dorothy Pountain as the other women in the story. The service concluded with holy communion, the Rev David Pountain officiating with the Rev Turner. David Philp was the organist.
The vestry service in the evening was led by Deacon Geoff Tamblin, who talked about the difficulties facing Christians on their journey of faith, and the need to resist the temptation to give up. John Gilbert was the pianist for the evening.
