Penzance road closed as six crews tackle house fire
Mennaye Road is closed around Alexandra Place due to a house fire. Police are asking drivers to avoid the area.
Firefighters were called to Mennaye Road just after 7am this morning after reports of the blaze.
People were evacuated from the building
Appliances from six different stations were called out to deal with the mid terraced bedroom fire.
Crews used breathing apparatus, hosereels and covering jets to tackle the fire.
It is understood to be under control.
