Falmouth Marine School will be holding another of its information days for prospective students and their parents on Saturday, March 22.
The event, from 10am until noon, is a chance for would-be students to get a feel for student life, meet staff and students, explore the various departments and gather information on the various courses on offer.
Advice and guidance will be provided on finance, accommodation and courses and qualifications in boatbuilding, watersports, marine engineering and marine science.
Then, from 1pm until 3pm there will be free taster sessions supported by the Skills Show and National Careers Service. These will include a marine CSI team investigation into a suspicious death of a marine animal, which includes a dissection, and getting friendly with the sharks and venomous fish in the college’s aquarium.
Other sessions will include sailing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding or a basic introduction to boatbuilding or marine engineering at the on-site workshops.
