Youngsters at Parc Eglos Primary School got the chance to experience life in a big city when they spent five days in London.
Included in their visit were trips to see the |waxworks of Madame Tussauds, a trip on the London Eye and take part in an investigation at the Natural History Museum.
They also enjoyed a look around the Tower |Of London, including |the Crown Jewels, and “hop on, hop off” bus tour of the city.
Headteacher Brett Dye said: “They loved the time they spent outside Buckingham Palace; the flag showed the Queen was in residence – they were |hoping she was on her break time and might come out for a quick chat!”
They even had the chance to dress up and go to the theatre to see Roald Dahl's Matilda.
Mr Dye added: “The |children were a real credit to Cornwall and their school. Everywhere we went, people were praising them for their good manners and excellent behaviour.”
The school runs this trip for year five pupils every year and have in the past joined with other, smaller schools in the Southerly Point Co-operative Trust.
However, these smaller schools have now got together and organised a similar trip of their own to London.
“This is what Southerly Point is all about – great education experiences for the good of all the children in our schools,” said Mr Dye.
