A £300,000 investment in enhanced maternity services at Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, has been announced.
The funding will support two new birthing pool rooms and the purchase of extra equipment including fetal monitors and incubator resuscitaires.
A dedicated bereavement and counselling room will also be created to support families through the most difficult times.
The new funding for Cornwall makes up a sizeable part of a £10 million government funding package to enable NHS Trusts to improve maternity care, and give expectant mothers more choice in where they give birth.
