A Cornish boat manufacturer is making major waves at the London Boat Show after securing £45,000 interest-free loan from the South West Investment Group (SWIG).
Powercats Ltd, which manufactures a range of twin hulled, twin engined catamarans from its factory in Redruth is attracting a great deal of attention and interest from visitors at the UK's premier boat show in London.
The company, which has developed and enhanced its popular 525 Powercat range of craft since it first launched in 2001, is using the loan from SWIG to market its boats throughout the UK, undertake further product development andequiptheir premises.
In addition to growing interest in Powercats across the UK and20 boats already on the order book, the company was also awarded the prestigious Innovative Boat of the Year 2006 at the Marine Industry Awards - the UK's only winner from 11 award categories.
"The London Boat Show is a major opportunity for us to take Powercat to the thousands of boat enthusiasts who will attend, enabling us to show the benefits that Powercat has over traditional craft such a RIBS.
"The additional funding has been vital to us fulfilling our marketing plans, enabling us to create a new website, brochure, DVD and attend the London Boat Show itself. It is a very exciting time for the company and SWIG's supporthas been invaluable," said Powercats Director Matt McLeod.
