This week we had an inter club competition with St Ives Camera Club. The Chairman opened the evening by welcoming St Ives and judge Barbara Jenkin.
Members saw many excellent images and a wide variety of subjects. The judge commented that the competition was of a very high standard and there were no low scores. St Ives member Belinda Ratnayake thanked Penryn for their hospitality. Congratulations go to St Ives who won the competition with a total of 381 points against Penryn's 364. The marks were divided between two sections; prints and digital images. St Ives scored 186 for prints, Penryn 182. The digital scores were St Ives 195, Penryn 182. St Ives took first, second and third place in the prints and first and second in the digital section. Penryn took third place in the digitals with Milly by Mike Halsey and had two Highly Commended images while St Ives had three.
Next meetings: March 27 – in a change to our programme we are delighted to welcome back Bjorn Thomassen. He will talk to us about judging, preparing work for competitions etc. April 3 – Our Image of the Year competition will be judged by Roy McBryde.
Meetings take place each Thursday at 7.30pm at The Space, Penryn RFC, Kernick Road, Penryn TR10 9LF. It is a friendly and welcoming club that aims to help people improve their photography skills.
