This month’s meeting was in two parts, President Kathleen Kenny welcomed 23 members and we started with our monthly meeting where business and forthcoming events were discussed.
Our next Ladies who Lunch is on April 4 at the Gweek Inn, meeting at midday at the band room car park. Our competition “Three cup cakes”: 1, Annette Buchanon; 2, Jenny Butler; 3, Hazel Savage/Rita Kelly. Flower of the month: 1, Margie Moore; 2, Dorothy Kemp; 3, Gill Bosustow.
Next we had our AGM and Kathleen introduced our County Advisor Avril Woolcock. Annual reports were read and agreed then Avril took over the formal part of the meeting with the members voting for the president who again is Kathleen Kenny. Avril spoke about several events happening in the county including next year's Centenary of the WI and the baton which will travel the country and will spend a week in Cornwall.
Annual prizes were awarded for competitions: 1, Marcia Williams; 2, Hazel Savage; 3, Pearl Woodyer/Rita Kelly. Flowers: 1, Dorothy Kemp; 2, Zoe Keverne; 3, Rita Kelly. Supper and a quiz were provided by the committee who had a short meeting.
Our next meeting will be on April 10 at 7.30pm in the Methodist Hall, St. Keverne and our speaker will be Di Peters on Spring Flower Arranging, the competition will be a ladies corsage. For further information contact Rita Kelly 01326 280498. New members are always welcome.
