The St Keverne driver of a car involved in a collision with another vehicle at Penryn told the police he had had four beers before and the crash was his fault.
“I am drunk. I admit it,” said Joshua Llewellyn Mitchell, aged 25, of Trevallack Close, St Keverne, who pleaded guilty at Truro’s magistrates’ court to drink driving on February 27 when he tested at 54 mcg alcohol, 19 points over the limit.
Gail Hawkley, for the CPS, said he had lost control of his vehicle at 9pm, colliding with another car driven by a female, who in turn collided her vehicle with a wall, injuring herself and the wall.
Mitchell, who had no previous convictions, was fined £140 and £105 costs and surcharge and banned from driving for 16 months.
