It appears that the curse of the Sat Nav could have met its match in Helston.
After yet another car drove too far along Church Lane at the start of this year, thanks to the driver putting too much faith in technology, two bollards have suddenly appeared halfway down.
The problem is that there has always been vehicle access - to a point. The lane then narrows and there are a series of steps, but some motorists, particularly those from out of the area, fail to realise this until it is too late.
It has led to some unfortunate mishaps, including one woman getting her car stuck on the steps, which had to be towed by a recovery firm.
Thankfully this embarrassment should now be a thing of the past, thanks to two black bollards that are now standing there like two security guards blocking access any further.
