The Rev Steve Smith is the new priest-in-charge at St Laudus Church in Mabe after being installed by the Bishop of St Germans, the Rt Rev Chris Goldsmith.

Also present at the service to witness the licensing were the Dean of Truro Cathedral, the Very Rev Roger Bush and the Archdeacon of Cornwall, the Rev Canon Bill Stewart-White, along with Rev Smith’s friends and family.

Rev Smith was introduced to the Paul Hayes, head of Mabe Primary School, and representatives from the parish council, the Penryn Campus at Tremough and other local organisations and voluntary groups.

Two celebration cakes to mark the occasion came from St Laudus at Mabe and St Michael's Church at Ponsanooth.
