Falmouth teenager Amy Jones has been presented with a prestigious Diana Award in recognition of her anti-bullying campaign which attracted the support of celebrities including Tom Daley and Gareth Gates.

Amy set up Stay Strong after she was bullied at a young age and wanted to create an awareness campaign that would, among other things, educate young people on the impact of bullying and give hope to those affected by it.

Councillor Vicky Eva nominated Amy for a Diana Award, which are given to young people who inspire the lives of others, and presented her with it, along with mayor Geoffrey Evans, at a recent meeting of Falmouth Town Council.

Amy said: “I feel rather proud of myself for winning this particular award at the age of 16. I think that this will help me promote the Stay Strong anti-bullying campaign since it is such a big award and hopefully help more of those suffering from bullying.”
