A man with an alcohol problem pleaded guilty to stealing bottles of alcohol from Tesco in Camborne and Marks & Spencer in Hayle when he appeared before Truro magistrates.

Jonathan James White, 53, c/o Little Haven, Coverack, Helston, had previous convictions and had been in and out of prison said his solicitor Deborah Von Kohler. He had an alcohol problem that he was now trying to address.

White was given a four month prison sentence suspended for a year and told to pay £80 victim surcharge.
