Pupils across Helston and the Lizard showed their sporting spirit last week when they took part in all manner of exercise to raise money for Sport Relief.
They included youngsters at St Michael’s Primary School, where each class took it in turns to contribute to the all-day “dance-athon.”
To fit with the theme of the day, pupils wore sports clothing to school instead of their uniform.
This led to plenty of football shirts, ballet tutus and even the odd leg warmer. Santander agreed to match fund the school’s donations, making a grand total of £560.04.
Breage Bright Sparks Pre-school and Breage School joined in the fundraising.
The pre-school children dressed in red and made cakes to sell at the school, along with cake donations from parents and grandparents.
They also ran a “sheep stake”, where sheep characters were sold. The winner was “Diamond Geezer” who was purchased by Sandra Coleman.
The school pupils paid to wear sporting clothing and enjoyed the cakes from the pre-school. Thanks to the support of pupils, parents and staff a total of £97 was raised.
