Cider enthusiasts, keep fit followers and others looking for something out of the ordinary to do at the weekend, all joined in the fun as Falmouth’s fourth annual Spring Festival drew to a close last week.
Last weekend saw the Folk and Cider Fayre held on the Events Square where people were drawn by the offer of local food, drink and music. Mike Rangecroft, of Falmouth Festivals Ltd which organised the event, said: “This is the second year of the Folk and Cider Fayre and once again proved a popular addition to Falmouth’s end to end season of events and attractions.
“The combination of the folk music programme and over 20 different Westcountry ciders, seemed to hit the right note with the large numbers of people who supported the fayre.”
The Moor also proved a hive of activity at the weekend with people of all ages grabbing the chance to play several games, including Jenga and badminton, which had been provided free of charge by the Falmouth town management team.
There was also a chance to join in with some keep fit exercises which were led by a team from The Core Fitness, which is based at the old Post Office building on the edge of the piazza.
At the Gyllyngdune Gardens, the Springtime Shadow Puppet Theatre put on a show that brought together artists, musicians and the imagination of local school children in a piece of “eclectic springtime entertainment.”
