Sunday's Mothering Sunday service was taken by the Rev Samuel Marsden. The first lesson and the Psalm were read by Yvonne Bellinger and the second lesson by Esther Brown. The Rev Judy Harris read the Gospel and Andrew Woods was the organist.

This week's services will be on Wednesday at 6.30pm (Stations of the Cross), Thursday at 10am (holy eucharist with the Rev Peter Bradford as celebrant), Sunday at 9.30am (solemn eucharist with the Rev Peter Bradford as celebrant) and 6pm (evensong with the Rev Jane Bradbury as celebrant). Choir practice will be on Wednesday at 7.15pm.

The Lent ecumenical group will meet in Fore Street Methodist Church on Thursday at 2.30pm.

Envelopes for Lent savings are still available. Monies this year will go to the Farming Community Network.

Thanks to all who supported the spring sale at which £240 was raised for church funds.

Two dates for diaries: St Bart's summer fete on August 5 and St Bart's will be holding a special event on August 13 for the 100th anniversary of the First World War and WWI memorabilia is sought for the displays. More details will follow in due course.
