Mothering Sunday was celebrated with a service led by Pauline Reed and the Monday Club.
The service centred on four mothers from the Bible - Mary, the mother of Jesus, Sarah, Hagar and Hannah, who had all been exceptional mothers in different ways, but Mrs Reed emphasised that all mothers were exceptional and showed the many different roles that a mother has in the family. Monday Club members introduced hymns and readings, led prayers and took part in a short sketch. The organist was Peter Townsend.
At the close of the service the children who were present distributed flowers to the congregation, and coffee was served in the schoolroom.
On Maundy Thursday, April 17, an Easter Cake Bake will be held in the chapel. Following a demonstration at 10am of Hot Cross bun making by Elizabeth Endean, all cakes will be for sale during the coffee morning. All welcome.
