An 83-year-old woman has died following a crash on the A39.
Police were called to the scene of the two-vehicle collision near Wadebridge at around 2pm yesterday.
The vehicles involved were a red Citroen C3 and a blue Ford Fiesta.
Both drivers of the cars were women and both were seriously injured in the smash near to Ball Roundabout. One was taken to Derriford Hospital via air ambulance.
The female driver of one of the vehicles involved, an 83-year-old woman from the St Teath area, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. Next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the second vehicle remains in Derriford Hospital at this time with serious injuries which are not believed to be life threatening or changing.
The road was closed while officers continue enquiries at the scene, with diversions are in place.
