Helston Football Club is applying for planning permission to allow it to extend its existing clubhouse and changing rooms at Kellaway Park.
The club has applied for an extension to the North East end of the building to create a new storage and meeting area.
It claims the building, to be made from the same materials as the existing extension, is necessary due to the club’s recent success and the rising number of youth teams and demand for facilities at the club, and will create a storage unit for the youth team to the rear, replacement storage shed, and meeting room for half time and refreshments.
R A Design, the architects who wrote the design statement, said: “The existing storage shed will be replaced to create a larger parking area to the South West end of the clubhouse.
“The existing shed is falling down and past repair.
“In conclusion these simple alterations will allow for the local football club to keep running successfully and make the progressions they need to provide a successful social club and sports club for the people of Helston and the surrounding area.”
