FOOTBALL fans will be in for a great treat next month when former Manchester United and England goalkeeper Alex Stepney will be in the county as the guest speaker at a charity sporting dinner evening in aid of Cornwall Air Ambulance.
It takes place at the Tregenna Castle Hotel, St Ives, on Friday, February 23, at 7.30 for 8 pm, but as well as Stepney revealing some entertaining anecdotes there is also the added attraction of comedian Tank Sherman who is one of the best on the night club circuit.
If that wasn't enough to make for a great evening there is also the opportunity to take part in an auction which has some very desirable sporting memorabilia on offer.
They include items from Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and, rather intriguingly, items from the 1966 World Cup.
Tickets are £30 per person and can be obtained from Phil Payne (01736 711833 or 07944 521304; Rob Naybour (01736 795254); and Pete Foxwell (07812 523222.
