ILLOGAN 6 LUDGVAN 1
AFTER their dip in form Illogan have bounced back in fine style to reassert themselves at the top of the Jolly's Combination League.
Illogan opened the scoring in the 27th minute when a quick throw by Gary Sturmey found Cowper who crossed for Nicky Medlin to beat the goalkeeper from 12 yards.
It was the visitors who snapped up the next goal when Danny Burrows sliced his clearance. The ball spun wickedly and Stuart Trevorrow reacted quickly to knock the ball home.
Trevorrow had a second goal disallowed for offside as Illogan became a little complacent, but four minutes from half-time the home side regained the lead when Sturmey and Medlin combined to set up Cowper to score.
Andy Angove showed that he is still a fine goalkeeper with several top-drawer saves, but his luck ran out in the 72nd minute when Darren Holsey headed a goal kick to Richards who beat a defender and wrong-footed Angove to score.
Three minutes later Richards made it 4-1 when he glanced in Stuart Peters' cross.
Simon Ellis outjumped the defence to head in Peters' free kick for the sixth and minutes from the end Medlin headed in the sixth from Danny Scorer's cross.
