TRURO COLTS 12pts KINGSBRIDGE COLTS 0pts
TRURO Colts started 2007 with a hard-fought game against Kingsbridge at St Clements in difficult conditions.
Kingsbridge spent the majority of the first half defending with the Truro forwards pushing for the line. Prop and man of the match Paul Andrews finally powered over for a try under the posts which was converted by Dan Seal.
As the first half continued the Truro backs came into their own with some great handling, especially from Ashley Ritchie and Ant Gregovich, to stretch the Kingsbridge backs and send over Jake Lytham for a second try before half time.
The conditions took their toll in the second half with the ground being very heavy under foot. Both sides showed some great spirit and skill but to no avail.
Frustration set in and one point with Ollie Woolcock being shown a yellow card but overall a great game for Truro leading into the first round of the County Cup.
Truro play Hayle at St Clements Hill on Saturday, kick off 2.30 pm.
