The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Federation of Biological Recorders and the Environmental Records Centre for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly have organised a forum for wildlife recorders.
Called "Practical wildlife recording in the field - methods and equipment" the forum is on Saturday, January 20. It will run from 10am until 4pm at Fraddon village hall, near Indian Queens.
Following a successful wildlife recorders forum held in 2005, which focussed on the future of wildlife recording in Cornwall, this one will focus on the practicalities of wildlife recording in the field in the county.
The day will also be a chance to meet up with recorders and representatives of local wildlife recording groups, find out what they do and what equipment they use (with cheaper alternatives suggested) and the time-saving or accepted methodologies they recommend.
The following general topics will be among those open for discussion and demonstration GPS (Global Positioning Systems) and maps Photography (including digital) for recording Microscopes and binoculars Ways of saving time and money when field recording Tea and coffee will be available but those attending need to bring their own packed lunch.
