POLICE believe that the remains of a man's body which they found at Woodcot Corner in Truro last week belong to 51-year-old Kenneth Walton.
Kenneth, of St Columb Minor, Newquay, was last seen near the Royal Cornwall Hospital on Monday April 17 2006 and he had been the subject of a missing persons enquiry by the police.
He was described as white, 5'6'' tall and of a small build. He had an injury to his left ankle and was probably wearing a cast around the lower part of his leg and foot. He may also have had crutches with him and was carrying a yellow hospital polythene bag.
His clothing at the time of his disappearance included a distinctive zip up top with red shoulder band a dark blue chest band with the word RIVALDI written in white letters and white sleeves with dark blue stripe and white bottom half.
DI Stuart Ellis, who is leading the enquiry, said: "I would like to thank members of the public who have already assisted in this investigation but I would like to make a fresh appeal for anyone with any further information relating to this incident to contact us.
"Although Easter 2006 was a while ago someone may recall seeing Kenneth in the Truro area round that time with his distinctive top and maybe with the aid of crutches."
