A one-day exhibition showcasing new work from the Interactive Art and design MA course at University College Falmouth is to be held on Thursday, January 18, from 10am to 4pm.
Called the Input/Output Show, the event is the work of this year's students and focuses on the mutual relationship between audience, artwork and artist, and aims to encourage the viewer's unique contribution and experience of the work.
Using the simple concept of input/output as a starting point, each piece of work in this exhibition maps a particular type of interactivity. When people understand the nature of inputs and outputs - be they social or technological - they can begin to focus on the varied complexities of human life.
The Input/Output show includes some engaging and playful works by seven artists, such as a surreal scalextric that will take the viewer on an imaginary journey; a giant i-pod inspired creation where the audience become a voyeur of the artists life; and a set of mystical machines that react to their environment and participants' input.
The show is free and the venue is the Design Centre, Tremough Campus, Treliever Road, Penryn. There is no parking available, but there are regular buses from Falmouth, Penryn and Truro.
